Cepea, March 3 – The volume of hydrous ethanol traded in the spot market in São Paulo increased in late February. Besides the heated demand from some distributors because of carnaval period in Brazil, mills showed a higher interest to sell due to the proximity of new crop (2017/18) beginning in the Central-Southern region, forecast for March in some plants, and consecutive price drops. In the last week of the month, ethanol supply from other states, especially Mato Grosso do Sul and Goiás, pressed down prices in the São Paulo market
