Cepea, May 16, 2017 – Despite the delay in sugarcane crushing in central-southern Brazil and the firm demand for ethanol, due to higher competitiveness compared to gasoline, prices of hydrous and anhydrous ethanol dropped in São Paulo State in the first fortnight of May. Pressure came from higher supply in the period.
Price drops show that supply has been higher, despite the firmer demand from distributors, which had been purchasing the product from other states
