Cepea, September 4 2018 – This season, wheat prices have not been following any trend in the Brazilian market yet. In general, there are reasons for both price rises and drops, leading to different expectations for the mid and short terms.
On the one hand, international price rises and dollar appreciation tend to push up quotes in Brazil, on the other hand, estimates pointing to a possible larger wheat crop in Brazil (compared to that last year) may press down quotes – despite this production increase, domestic supply would still be the fourth lowest in 10 years
