Cepea, February 19 2019 – Brazilian cotton purchasers were cautious regarding new acquisitions in the spot market in the first fortnight of February, working with the product previously contracted and/or bidding prices lower than those asked by sellers. Thus, only some deals were closed – in these cases, either purchasers accepted lower quality cotton, or sellers lowered asking prices.
However, many sellers with higher quality cotton were not willing to lower asking prices, while others continued retracted, only accomplishing contracts
