Cepea, April 2 – The biggest animal-producing state in Brazil, Mato Grosso has also become the state with the highest productivity. According to data from IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), in 2018, productivity in that state reached 266.36 kilos of beef per animal, on average (considering cattle, cow, calf and heifer slaughter), higher than in São Paulo, where productivity had been the highest since 2012
