Cepea, October 2 2018 – Prices for the crystal sugar traded in the spot market of São Paulo State increased in September, reaching the highest average in the 2018/19 crop. The boost came from lower sugar production, which has been confirmed along the season. Besides, dollar appreciation against Real in September made refineries increase asking prices, since most of the volume produced in Brazil is exported
