Cepea, April 3 – Only a few mills in São Paulo State started to crush sugarcane of the 2017/18 season in the first fortnight of March; however, sugar prices continued to drop in the spot market of São Paulo. Purchasers were searching for lower prices and found flexibility in agents from mills, once, in periods of transition between crops, it is common that sellers trade their inventories.
Another aspect that pressed quotes down in Brazil was the international demerara market, which was decreasing as well
