Cepea, January 3, 2022 – The demand for ethanol decreased in the 2020/21 season, influenced by the covid-19 pandemic. This scenario pressed down ethanol prices in the Brazilian market, despite lower production. On the other hand, in the current season (2021/22), unfavorable weather and the sugarcane crop failure have pushed up the values for anhydrous and hydrous ethanol, which hit levels much higher than that in previous crops
