The biodiesel area in Brazil has been facing a moment of deregulation, with state companies leaving the commercialization process, which leads to the search of new trade forms among agents in the chain.
Since the first decade of the 21st century, the Brazilian government has encouraged both the production and the use of biodiesel in the country. The Brazilian Biofuel Program, launched in 2002, focused on reducing the dependency on oil, aiming to promote the use of different oilseeds to produce alternative fuel, leading to a decrease in the emission of pollutant gases, meeting Kyoto Protocol rules
