In the crop before, the weak demand (due to covid-19) pressed down ethanol quotes, despite the lower production. In this season (2021/22), on the other hand, unfavorable weather conditions and the crop failure have been pushing up prices of the biofuels in Brazil.
Cepea surveys indicate that average prices for hydrous and anhydrous ethanol in São Paulo state increased significantly in the first five months of this crop (from April to August/21) compared to the same period of the season before (2020/21), in real terms
