Cepea, February 5 2019 – Soybean prices decreased sharply in the Brazilian market in January, returning to the lowest levels since Jan/18, in real terms (IGP-DI from Dec/18). Pressure came from the expressive devaluation of the US dollar against Real, estimates for lower demand from China and a decrease in the exports from the United States. Liquidity was low in Brazil last month, due to growers’ retraction, who prefer to stock than trade the beans at the current price levels
