Cepea, August 17 2018 – As the 2017/18 harvesting advanced and the cotton purchased through contracts was delivered, Brazilian sellers became more active in the spot market in the first fortnight of August, willing to lower asking prices. Attentive to this scenario and to estimates for a larger output in Brazil in six years, purchasers pressed down quotes for quick-delivery acquisitions.
