Cepea, January 3, 2018 – CATTLE – Events referring to agroindustrial beef chain in Brazil and difficulties faced by the sector affected fed cattle and beef quotes in 2017. The operation “Weak Flesh”, the plea bargain agreements of the major slaughterhouse in Brazil (which led this major player to reduce significantly animal purchases), and the return of Funrural (Rural Workers' Assistance Fund) discount affected trades of fed cattle raisers in the first half of the year. In this scenario, values of the animals, beef and calf dropped most part of 2017, with a small recovery in the last four months of the year
