Cepea, September 5, 2017 – Sales intentions were higher than purchasing intentions in the Brazilian cotton market in August, which pressed down quotes (the downward trend of prices started in early August). The pace of trades, in turn, was firm, with most batches involving small volumes (due to the flexibility of both cotton growers/trading companies regarding prices and payment deadlines, and processors, who were searching for quality cotton).
Demand from processors from the South, Southeast and Northeast was high, but companies from Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais and São Paulo were still trying to pay lower values for new acquisitions
